What are some games like President Infinity or Congress Infinity?

By Mert Yerekapan, maker of Midterms 2026 · Updated 2026-10-28

Nothing matches President Infinity's level of detail exactly, but a few games cover similar ground. The Political Machine is the closest in spirit for presidential races, Democracy 4 covers governing, and Midterms 2026 is a lighter, phone-friendly game about winning Congress.

What makes President Infinity different

President Infinity and Congress Infinity are election simulators from 270soft. They're known for depth: lots of scenarios, many candidates and plenty of settings you can change. The tradeoff is that they ask for time and patience. That's a strength for people who love tinkering and a barrier for people who want to jump in.

If you want Congress on your phone

Congress Infinity fans might like Midterms 2026, which I made. It's a free turn-based iPhone game about winning the House and Senate, not the presidency.

The twist is that you found your own party. You choose a name, a logo, colors and a leader, then answer press questions that set your ideology. After that you get 20 turns before Election Day to open state offices, go on TV, hold rallies and decide whether to take money from interest groups. On election night, 35 Senate races and all 435 House seats are counted.

To be fair, it's much simpler than anything 270soft makes. It has no real candidates, no real polls and no scenarios based on real elections. Every party and character is fictional. In exchange you get a campaign you can finish in well under an hour, with no account and no connection needed.

What I'd do

My guess is that most people who like these games like them for the same reason. They want to see how small decisions pile up into a result. The difference is mostly how long you want that to take.

If you do try more than one, play them in different moods. A detailed simulator is great when you have a free evening, and a short campaign is better when you have twenty minutes. Having both on hand means you always have something that fits.
